How to Register your Multifaction Authentication Method

To register your Multifaction Authentication Method (MFA) please see the guide below

1. Head over to Office.com and select Sign In

2. Enter your Smith Chason College email address

3. Enter your password

4. You will then see a screen saying "More information required" this is the first process to set up your MFA. Click "Next" to proceed with the setup.

5. You are able to set up your MFA through the Microsoft Authenticator App (Recommended)

We strongly recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator App, as it provides a higher level of security and a smoother login experience.

5a. To set up your Microsoft Authenticator App please download the app from either the:

• Apple App Store
• Google Play Store

5b. Once downloaded, click "Next".

5c. Once initially opening the app, please select "Allow Notifications" then click Next.

5d. You will then see a screen where a QR code pops up.

The following steps will be completed on your phone.

5e. From your phone select the "+" icon (top right of the app) to begin setting up your MFA

5f. Select "Work or School Account" from the list options

5g. From the next list options, select "Scan QR Code"

5h. From your Microsoft Authenticator App, scan the QR code that is on the screen.

5i. After successfully scanning the QR code you will be prompted to enter the number on your computer screen into the Microsoft Authenticator App.

5j. Once finished you will get have successfully set up your Microsoft Authenticator App.
