Everything you need to know about requesting access to your Smith Chason College account while traveling outside the United States or Canada
How to Request Access
Follow these four steps to make sure there is no uninterrupted access to your Smith Chason College account.
- Submit a Ticket
Go to the IT Support website and submit a new ticket to request out of country access. Alternatively, you can email support@smithchason.edu requesting for out of country access. - Include Your Travel Details
In your ticket, provide your full name, the country you are traveling to, your departure date, and expected return date. - Verify Your Identity
Please submit your ticket using your Smith Chason College email address. The IT Department will contact you to verify your identity before granting access, so be prepared to answer a security question. - Receive Confirmation
Once verified, IT will process your request, and you will receive confirmation. Your access will be active for up to 30 days from the date it is granted.
Important Things to Know
Access Expires Automatically
Your travel access expires after 30 days. You do not need to do anything to remove it. If your trip extends beyond 30 days, submit a new ticket before your current access expires.
Returning Early?
If you return to the US or Canada before your 30 days are up, contact IT or submit a ticket to have your travel access removed early.
MFA Device Lost or Broken?
If you are having trouble with your two-factor authentication device and you are traveling, submit a separate helpdesk ticket for MFA assistance. IT will grant a temporary bypass so you can set up a new method.
New Employees Abroad?
The same process applies. Submit a ticket, verify your identity, and IT will set up your access, including the ability to register your two-factor authentication from your location.
