Why do I need to update? An outdated browser can cause websites to load incorrectly, block access to school resources like Canvas, Proctorio, and student portals. This can potentially leave your device open to security risks. We recommend keeping your browser updated at all times.
Updating Google Chrome
1. Open the Google Chrome menu
Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the window.
2. Go to Settings
Click Settings in the dropdown menu.
3. Click "About Chrome"
In the left sidebar, click About Chrome. Chrome will automatically check for and download any available updates.
4. Let Chrome check for updates
Google Chrome will check for updates and begin updating automatically. Keep this page open until the update finishes.
5. Relaunch Google Chrome
When the update finishes downloading, click Relaunch to restart Chrome and apply the update.
Already updated? If no update is available, you'll see "Chrome is up to date."
Updating Microsoft Edge
1. Open the Microsoft Edge menu
Open Edge and click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the window.
2. Go to Settings
Click "Settings" in the dropdown menu.
3. Click "About Microsoft Edge"
In the left sidebar, click About Microsoft Edge. Edge will automatically check for and download any available updates.
4. Restart Microsoft Edge
When the update finishes downloading, click Restart to apply the update.
Already updated? If no update is available, you'll see "Microsoft Edge is up to date."
