For the best experience with online platforms such as Canvas, Zoom, and online coursework, we recommend using Google Chrome. This guide walks you through installing Chrome on a Windows computer.
Before you start: Make sure you are using a Windows laptop or desktop and that you have an active internet connection.
Step 1: Open Microsoft Edge
From your desktop, click Microsoft Edge to open your web browser.
Step 2: Go to Chrome.com
In the address bar, type chrome.com and press Enter. This will take you to the Google Chrome official download page.
Step 3: Download Google Chrome
Select Download Chrome button to begin downloading the installer.
Step 4: Open the Downloaded File
When the download finishes, look near the top-right area of Edge for an option like Open file. If you don't see it, select the Downloads arrow to view recent downloads.
Tip: The Chrome installer is often highlighted in the downloads list.
Step 5: Allow the Installer to Run
If Windows asks for permission, select Yes to continue
Step 6: Wait for the Installation to Complete
Chrome will install automatically. Please wait until the installation finishes.
Step 7: Launch Google Chrome
When the installation is complete, Google Chrome may open automatically. If it does not, open Chrome from your desktop or Start menu.
