Note: You must first email support@smithchason.edu to have your MFA methods reset for your SCC Office365 account. Then you can follow the instructions below.
- Open the Google Chrome browser and go to https://www.office.com/.
- If you are already signed into https://www.office.com/ sign out and close your browser windows. Then open the Google Chrome browser and go to https://www.office.com/ again.
- Sign into Office.com using Smith Chason College Office365 credentials (please perform these steps on a desktop or laptop as you will need to use your phone to scan a QR code).
- You will be prompted with the MFA setup prompt. Click Next.
- When prompted to start setting up your Microsoft Authenticator, click Next.
- You will want to continue clicking Next until the QR code screen shown below appears.
- Switch over to your mobile device and download or open the Microsoft Authenticator App.

- When you open the MFA app, there will be two options to add a new account depending on whether you have used the app before.
*If you already have an account added, select the account > Select the gear Icon found on the top-right of the screen > Select Remove Account.
- After selecting either "+" or Add Account option, you will want to select Work or School Account.
- You will then want to select Scan QR Code.
- This will bring up your camera within the MFA app (scanning the QR Code will not work using your regular camera app). Proceed to scanning the QR code found in step #6.
- You will be given a 2-digit number on the website that must be entered into the MFA app.
- Once the 2-digit number has been input into the app, select Yes. You will get a "notification approved" message on the browser. Select Next and then Done to finish your MFA setup.

- You have successfully setup your MFA and may now sign into https://www.office.com/ and Office365 apps using your new authentication method.
