Accessing Canvas

Canvas LMS by Instructure is a Learning Management System.

Canvas is where you will have access to your course content, including live lectures, books, discussion boards, homework, quizzes, assignments, etc.

To Access Canvas, you will need:

• Google Chrome browser – Using the Google Chrome internet browser is essential to the reliable functionality of your online Student technology.
• The Smith Chason College Canvas URL: https://wcui.instructure.com
• Your Office.com credentials (Student email address and password) – Your Office.com credentials are part of a Single Sign-On (SSO) system which includes your student email address and your Canvas LMS login credentials.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome Browser

Step 2: In the Google Address bar enter: wcui.instructure.edu then Enter.

Step 3: Enter your student email address as your login username. 

Step 4: Enter your password.

Step 5: Authenticate using the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method chosen upon your first Office.com login. You may have chosen the Microsoft Authenticator app, SMS text, or a phone call.

Step 6: Enter the MFA code.

Step 7: Answer Yes or No to the “Stay Signed In” question.

Step 8: You should now be logged into Canvas and able to view your Canvas Student Dashboard.
