Are you a new Smith Chason College student?
If you are an incoming student, you will receive your Smith Chason student login credentials towards your term start date.
Canvas LMS by Instructure is a Learning Management System.
Canvas is where you’ll find everything for your courses: live lectures, eBooks, discussions, homework, quizzes, and assignments.
Before you start, you’ll need:

Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge: Canvas and our other student tools work most reliably in Chrome or Edge.

- Your student email and password: This is the same login you use for Office.com. One account signs you in to both.
Log in to Canvas
- Open Chrome or Edge and go to https://smithchason.instructure.com
- Enter your student email address and click Next.
- Enter your password and click Sign in.
- Complete your MFA check. Approve the notification in the Authenticator app, or enter the code sent to your phone.
- If asked Stay signed in? choose Yes on your personal computer or No on a shared computer.
- You'll land on your Canvas Dashboard, where your courses appear as cards.

I logged in to Canvas but don't see my courses.
Courses appear once your instructor publishes them, which is usually close to the start of the term. If the term has started and a course is still missing, submit a request with the course name.
